After rumours continue to circulate that both Jeremy Piven and Kevin Dillon have already agreed to star in the movie adaptation of the HBO series Entourage, while other cast members are yet to agree, it seems that we’re no closer to seeing a definite resolution on whether the movie will or will not be made.
The series finished in 2011 with the prospect of a film on the cards, but with no resolution reached we are beginning to wonder if there is life after Entourage?
The official HBO website can help you recap on the cast, characters and episodes – click here for more information – but here we take a look at what the boys have been up to since the curtain came down on eight seasons of success.
Jeremy Piven – Ari Gold
After the release of Aardman’s The Pirates! Band of Misfits in 2012 where he was cast as the voice of Black Bellamy alongside such acting luminaries as Imelda Staunton, Brendan Gleesona and Brian Blessed, Piven has kept fairly busy. In 2013 he worked in the Miley Cyrus vehicle So Undercover but the highlight was his title role in ITV’s acclaimed period drama Mr Selfridge, set to be reprised for a second series in 2014.
Adrian Grenier – Vincent Chase
Ironically one of the perceived hold-ups in an Entourage film being made, Adrian Grenier has starred in just two films since he left the show. Despite winning 18 awards at various indie film festivals, True Bromance has barely registered in the public conscious while Grenier’s second film, the post apocalyptic Goodbye World, received mixed reviews chiming mostly with the female thirty-something audience.
Jerry Ferrara – Turtle
Claiming that he’d even do the Entourage movie for free, Ferrara has barely been out of the Hollywood limelight since they called time on the hit series.
With the successful comedy Think Like A Man and upcoming sequel Think Like A Man Too (due for release in 2014) as well as six other films already out or due for release under his belt, perhaps his willingness to work for free is simply because he can afford to!
Kevin Dillon – Johnny Chase
After a short-lived role as Bert Lansing in the universally panned CBS sitcom How To Be A Gentleman, Kevin Dillon was cast in this years universally panned psychological thriller Compulsion. Despite boasting an impressive cast including Heather Graham, Carrie-Anne Moss and Joe Mantegna it went straight to DVD.
Kevin Connolly – Eric Murphy
Opting not to learn from fellow cast-member Kevin Dillon, Connolly stars in a new sit-com pilot Friends With Better Lives due to be aired by CBS this autumn. He has also has supporting roles in Sebastian Gutierrez Hotel Noir and in 2014’s Reach Me, also starring Elizabeth Henstridge and Sylvester Stallone.
It seems that all bar Piven and Ferrara could benefit greatly from agreeing to an Entourage movie – and sooner rather than later!
